Eating pancakes on Shrove Tuesday is the last opportunity to use up eggs and fats before embarking on the Lent - a 40-day fasting period leading up to Easter. The pancake has a very long history and featured in cookery books as far back as 1439. #PVSFactoid https://t.co/XWJcN3DpeE
