On Tuesday, the Year 7’s had their first netball game against Wellington at home. Both teams were trying to find their feet during the first quarter with the score at the end being 1-0 to Wellington. It was a very close quarter with the defence working really well.

As the girls got into the game our defence was superb, Nyasha and Millie were turning over play by doing some great interceptions! Kiera was working well to defend in the shooting circle to keep pressure on her opponents.

Paige, Esmay and Evie worked so well together in the centre third bringing the ball down together into their attacking third. Eleanor did great by driving free from her defence to receive a pass from either Esmay, Evie or Paige. There were some great dodges performed in the centre third resulting in a high legal of possession.

Laycee held her space in the circle resulting in her scoring some great shots from a variety of different angles.

The second quarter the score ended in 2-1, as the girls got more familiar with the play the third ended in 3-2 and by the end of the fourth quarter the final result was 5-2.

The girls are continuing to come to training and putting in the hard work, and hope for a win in their next match! Well done girls a fantastic first attempt at a match.
