The Bitterne Park Teaching School Alliance is a growing partnership comprising a diverse range of primary and secondary schools across Hampshire and Wiltshire, which present dynamic and exciting training possibilities for those wishing to pursue a career in teaching.

Our School Direct training programme is delivered in partnership with the Universities of Southampton and Chichester and combines the best elements of a traditional university-led PGCE training model with the benefits of a school-centred approach. Our partner universities have long-established records of excellent initial teacher training. Successful completion of the course will lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). The programme also accredits some work at Master's level.

Training with us means you will receive a comprehensive induction at the start of the course, a progressive training programme delivered throughout the year and a second school placement in a contrasting school. Throughout the programme, you will be supported by a highly skilled and trained curriculum mentor, a professional mentor and a university tutor. We are proud to celebrate a 100% employment record for trainees completing our programme in 2017/18.

Teachers that have successfully completed their Training at Pewsey Vale School through our association with the Bitterne Park Teaching School Alliance include:

Miss Kristina Rodier - Drama & Performing Arts

Mr Patrick Beatty - English

Mrs Alison Caplet - English

Miss Alice Saunders - Art and Design:Textiles
