I hope that this latest newsletter finds you safe and well. Last week was an incredibly busy week with us welcoming back our Year 10 students into their different bubble groups. It was lovely to see them all again and great to begin to get back to some form of normality; even if it was in a different format.
Work continues to be provided via our online learning platform and tutors will be contacting students over the coming weeks; focussing on those who are not regularly accessing their work. Please do ensure that if you need any support with your studies, contact your teachers and they will be able to help where possible.
Moving forward, over this coming week, there will be more plans outlined by the government about further reopening of different establishments. During the next few weeks, more details will follow about how schools will be preparing for September.
I think at this time, it is best for us to prepare for our school to be opening as normal for all year groups. Then we can adapt our plans, timetables, classes, etc as necessary if required. However, I have said that for the first month in September, students will not be required to wear school uniform; so please don’t panic about buying this over the Summer holidays.
This week we are beginning our transition work with the Year 6 students who will be joining us in September. This will be done online via email, videos and Zoom meetings to ensure that we make this as smooth as possible.
Regarding work, I am sure that by now, quite a lot of you are getting frustrated or bored with not being able to come in to school. I am hoping that we will see you all after the Summer holidays. In the meantime, please try to do as much of the online work as possible. I want you all to understand that we are providing work to cater for all abilities. Therefore, although some of the work is differentiated, if you feel overwhelmed by the amount that is being set; don’t worry. Try to dedicate regular periods of time to your studies and work through it at your own pace. Any work that you want marked or feedback on, please email your teacher or send it in. As a school, we are looking at our curriculum for next year and will be making necessary changes to plug gaps which may have resulted due to lockdown.
So, I hope you enjoy this newsletter and look forward to seeing you all soon. A great big thanks to the members of the PVS community who have contributed to date but we would love to hear from more of you.
If you have anything that you wish to share; whether it be ideas to keep people entertained, examples of work, good news stories, etc. please contact Mss Dean cde@pewsey-vale.wilts.sch.uk so we can share it in our communications.

Don’t forget every Wednesday on the Tin Henman foundation homepage three new challenges will be launched around the themes of being fulfilled, having fun and staying topical. There will be plenty of things for everyone so get involved and share what you are doing. This week the challenge focuses on Making the Impossible Possible. If we think hard we can all think about times where we have managed to achieve something that we never thought we could. If we learn from this how can we apply it to new challenges we will face in the future?
Take a look on the website for the coming challenges: https://thfonline.org/home/ and don’t forget to share your work with #THFOnline2020 @PewseyValeSch (twitter).
