The girls were netball ready with matching plaits in their hair, they have been working so hard at training and this was displayed throughout the game, it was such a close match!!

The first quarter was very fast-paced and the girls quickly found their feet. The defence was strong from both Molly Sh and Mia, intercepting the balls into the shooting circle and keeping their attackers close. Throughout the centre third, Connie was tight on her attacker, defending the centre passes. Annie and Sarah worked amazingly with Freya to bring the ball down to the attacking third, with Sarah driving into space and Annie feeding some great passes into the shooting circle where Freya and Katelyn put up some fantastic shots, ending the first quarter with a draw of 5-5.

Throughout the second and third quarter and we made some changes to the team, Molly Sy came on and did some great interceptions and tips of the ball to break down Wellingtons play. Ally showed real support to the shoots by getting free from her defender to feed the ball into the shooting circle. By the end of the third quarter, we were down by a few goals, but the girls were still motivated to turn it around.

The last quarter was intense, the girls wanted the win and they did not give in. We brought it back to 11-11, with some fantastic play from all the girls. Right down from Molly and Mia intercepting passes, to Connie turning over their centre passes, with Annie/Freya driving out for our Centre Passes, and Sarah/Annie feeding the ball into Katelyn/Freya who did outstanding at shooting. Sadly, within the last minute, Wellington took the lead with a final score of 13-11.

Despite the end result, it was a fantastic game and the girls should be so proud of themselves. Extra congratulations to Freya who got Player of the Match, well-done girls!

This weeks Word of the Week is 'Dilapidated'. This means to be in a state of disrepair due to age or lack of care. It comes from the Latin dilapidatus. Imagine you inherited a dilapidated house, would you know it down or restore it? Try using the word in a sentence. https://t.co/r5eX8XaoXM
