10th March 2020
Further to my letter of yesterday, Monday 9 March, I am writing to update you with further information from Public Health England and Department for Education relating to our ski Trip to Italy which returned to the UK on 7 March.
Whilst Italy has now made the decision to shut its international borders, our ski trip to Claviere was in a Category 2 area during the period of the stay, as was the airport that we flew from.
The advice and guidance we have received from Department of Education this morning (10 March 2020) therefore remains the same that all students and staff can return to school and attend as normal, without the requirement to self-isolate at home unless they develop any symptoms.
We understand everyone’s concerns regarding the Coronavirus and obviously recognise the importance of keeping our students, staff and the community safe which is why we are working closely with government agencies and following all national guidance.
If you have any particular concerns the DfE has set up a special helpline which can be used by parents and which offers advice and guidance. The line is open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
Phone: 0800 046 8687
Further general advice and guidance can be found on the NHS Website https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
We will continue to monitor the situation and if circumstances change, we will respond an update you accordingly.
We thank you for your continued support in this matter.
