What is the Pupil Premium?
Pupil Premium is additional funding allocated to schools by the Government to help support disadvantaged and vulnerable students. Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium Grant as they see fit, and there is no requirement for the grant to be spent on individual students – rather the emphasis is on initiatives which are particularly focused on closing the attainment gap between disadvantaged students and their peers.
Which students are included?
Students who are counted when assessing a school’s Pupil Premium grant are those who:
– are Looked After Children (LAC)
– have been adopted from care (AFC)
– receive Free School Meals (FSM) now or in the past 6 years (FSM6)
– have a parent in the Armed Services
The links below show how we are using this additional funding at Pewsey Vale School.
