On Tuesday 7th February 2017, the Pewsey Vale School prefect fundraising team hosted a non-school uniform, ‘dress in red’ day as well as a sponsored fun run to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
All of the students and staff came in on the day, wearing their red tops, trousers, shoes, scarves and ties for the occasion. It was a truly colourful sight!
At the start of tutor time, those students taking part in the fun run, lined up at the entrance to the main sports field where they were set on their way by sports teachers Mr Thomas and Mr Rowles.
The 40 + runners set off with real energy and enthusiasm and were certainly all competing for the top spot. As they made their way around the beautiful but very large sports field, the runners started to separate out into smaller groups. It was lovely to see as they all helped each other to the end of the run. It was a really close call but recent chess champion, Sherwin Panaligan just managed to stay ahead of Connor Brown to be first over the line.
All the students finished within a very respectable time and were really pleased to have taken part in the event to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
The total amount of money raised on the day will be made available in due course.
A big thank you to all students and staff for making it a thoroughly enjoyable day and to the senior prefect fundraising team for organising the two events.
